The "Enterprise AI Digital Transformation Summit," co-hosted by the Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and the Qingdao Enterprise Association, organized by DingTalk, and supported by the Qingdao Artificial Intelligence Industry Association, was successfully held in Qingdao on April 24.
Qingdao Positions AI as a Leading Industry
Sun Jianwen, Deputy Secretary-General of the Qingdao Enterprise Association, stated in his speech that Qingdao has positioned artificial intelligence as a priority leading industry. There are now over 500 AI-related enterprises clustered in the city. He encouraged businesses present to actively embrace AI, seize the historic opportunities presented by the new wave of technological revolution and industrial transformation, integrate AI concepts and methodologies into enterprise development practices, and collectively contribute wisdom and strength to the high-quality growth of Qingdao’s AI industry.
Three Key Elements for Enterprise-Level AI Implementation
Shi Jiangfeng, General Manager of Alibaba's Wukong Division for East China, pointed out that over 80% of listed companies and Fortune 500 enterprises in Shandong Province are using DingTalk, with a significant number having moved from basic office collaboration to deep AI applications.
He said: "AI is a marathon, not a sprint." Enterprise-level AI implementation requires three essential elements: organizational context, organizational data, and operational systems. Without an enterprise directory, AI lacks permission boundaries; without proprietary corporate knowledge bases, AI generates inaccurate responses; without integration into business systems, AI remains superficial. The core value of Wukong lies in its "secure sandbox" model—it automatically inherits enterprise organizational permissions, avoids unauthorized actions, and prevents accidental deletion of protected content—something consumer-grade AI tools cannot match.
Stanley: Starting AI Adoption with High-Frequency Tasks
Founded in 1992 and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 2011, Stanley operates 12 major production bases across China, with an annual capacity of 6.5 million tons and more than 100,000 sales and service outlets nationwide.
Ma Jingyuan, head of Stanley's AI project team, recalled that after the Spring Festival in 2023, the chairman required all employees to learn about AI. After the 2024 Spring Festival, this evolved into a directive to use AI to solve real business problems. After evaluating open-source platforms and multiple commercial products, Stanley ultimately chose DingTalk. "DingTalk fully integrates with our existing office systems and organizational directory, offering extremely fine-grained control over permissions," he said.
In implementing AI across business scenarios, Stanley focused first on tasks that were frequent, repetitive, time-consuming, and prone to errors.
In marketing, pricing logic for compound fertilizers is highly complex—affected by factors such as distributors, shipping locations, and transportation methods. Traditionally, even experienced staff took over a minute to place an order. Now, sales personnel simply say into their phone, "Place an order for five tons of San’an," and Wukong automatically identifies the product, quantity, and delivery details, completing the order in as little as twenty seconds.
In data analysis, one employee previously spent three minutes daily compiling trace element data. With AI-powered functions built via Wukong, this now takes only ten seconds. Ma noted: "Saving three minutes per spreadsheet, multiplied across 12 bases and numerous reports, frees up 24 working hours every day."
On the supply side, raw material price monitoring staff used to manually collect data at 4 p.m. daily. Now, Wukong runs scheduled tasks to automatically retrieve domestic and international raw material prices and inventory levels each afternoon at 4 p.m., generating complete reports. At the finance shared service center, an AI assistant handles common reimbursement queries through service groups. When sales staff have questions, the AI assistant responds instantly, allowing financial auditors to focus on core review tasks.
Ma likened the AI initiative to farming: "It requires selecting quality seeds, fertile soil, refined techniques, and the right tools."
Yi Ke Da™: AI Reshaping Production and Operations
Kaisheng Haofeng is a mixed-ownership reform enterprise under Kaisheng Technology Group, a second-tier subsidiary of China National Building Materials Group, a Fortune Global 500 state-owned enterprise. Its brand "Yi Ke Da™" specializes in tomatoes and processed tomato products, consistently ranking among the top three in category sales on platforms like Tmall and Douyin, with a repurchase rate as high as 50%.
Liu Qing, Head of Digital Technology at Yi Ke Da™, shared that the company has been deeply using DingTalk for over eight years. It now has 1,109 active users of AI spreadsheets, achieving 100% AI coverage, with more than 2,700 AI-enhanced spreadsheets and 200 digital employees deployed. Total AI transcription time exceeds 420,000 minutes.
In production, biosafety protocols prohibit technicians from bringing phones into greenhouses. Previously, they had to handwrite data and later input it into Excel before uploading—a process prone to errors. Now, technicians can take photos, and AI automatically recognizes and enters the data. If readings fall outside normal ranges, the system highlights them in red and triggers a review alert. "Data entry efficiency improved by 90%, error rates dropped by 90%, and issue resolution speed increased by over 50%," Liu said.
In inspection workflows, each base previously had one dedicated safety officer. Now, any employee can scan a QR code, photograph potential hazards, and upload them. AI automatically identifies the risks, links them to relevant safety regulations, and suggests corrective actions. When a certain type of hazard occurs at one site, AI retrieves similar cases and solutions from other sites.
Additionally, the marketing team must monitor competitor pricing, new product launches, and brand sentiment daily. Previously, this required manual searches across multiple platforms. Now, a simple voice command to Wukong returns a comprehensive report within minutes. Legal contract reviews previously took at least 10–15 minutes per document; now Wukong identifies key clauses and offers revision suggestions in 2–3 minutes. In recruitment, AI can screen thousands of resumes within 20 minutes. During this year’s campus hiring season, a task that used to take four weeks was completed in just one and a half days. For entry-level roles, AI interviewers handle basic information checks, reducing HR workload by 40%. AI also analyzes micro-expressions during interviews to help detect possible resume or academic fraud.
Liu remarked: "Over a decade ago, people said 'software is eating the world.' Today, AI is consuming software. In the near future, every piece of software will be rebuilt by AI."
From policy interpretation to technical foundations, from Stanley’s fertilizer workshops to Yi Ke Da’s smart greenhouses, Shandong enterprises are leveraging DingTalk and Wukong to build their own AI advantages. This AI-driven digital transformation is rapidly penetrating every aspect of operations—production, marketing, finance, and supply chains. As more and more Shandong companies embed AI into daily workflows, embracing AI is no longer just a slogan, but a powerful engine driving Shandong enterprises toward renewed growth in the new era.

Using DingTalk: Before & After
Before
- × Team Chaos: Team members are all busy with their own tasks, standards are inconsistent, and the more communication there is, the more chaotic things become, leading to decreased motivation.
- × Info Silos: Important information is scattered across WhatsApp/group chats, emails, Excel spreadsheets, and numerous apps, often resulting in lost, missed, or misdirected messages.
- × Manual Workflow: Tasks are still handled manually: approvals, scheduling, repair requests, store visits, and reports are all slow, hindering frontline responsiveness.
- × Admin Burden: Clocking in, leave requests, overtime, and payroll are handled in different systems or calculated using spreadsheets, leading to time-consuming statistics and errors.
After
- ✓ Unified Platform: By using a unified platform to bring people and tasks together, communication flows smoothly, collaboration improves, and turnover rates are more easily reduced.
- ✓ Official Channel: Information has an "official channel": whoever is entitled to see it can see it, it can be tracked and reviewed, and there's no fear of messages being skipped.
- ✓ Digital Agility: Processes run online: approvals are faster, tasks are clearer, and store/on-site feedback is more timely, directly improving overall efficiency.
- ✓ Automated HR: Clocking in, leave requests, and overtime are automatically summarized, and attendance reports can be exported with one click for easy payroll calculation.
