Xi陵 District AI Education Research Team and Technology Alliance Officially Launched

On the morning of April 3, the AI Lighthouse Initiative – 2026 Education Summit (Yichang Station) was successfully held in Yichang, Hubei. The launch ceremony for the Xi陵 District Artificial Intelligence Education Research Team and Technology Alliance concluded smoothly at Zhongshan Road Campus of Yichang Experimental Primary School. Hosted by the Xi陵 District Education Bureau, this event aims to deepen digital transformation in education and promote deeper integration between artificial intelligence and teaching practices. Attendees included Zhang Xiaoling, Party Leadership Group Member and Deputy Director of the bureau, representatives from science and education enterprises, as well as members from various technology alliance schools and research teams across the district.

During the launch ceremony, the Xi陵 District Education Bureau officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement with DingTalk’s team. In the future, pilot applications will be carried out in areas such as AI-powered academic administration, homework grading, and Wukong intelligent agents, providing technical support for intelligent regional education development.

Zhou Ping, General Manager of DingTalk Education's Central & Southwest China Region, delivered a keynote speech on "AI + Education" practices. She systematically introduced innovative achievements from Yuhang District, Hangzhou, in building educational models, student assessment, vision protection, teacher evaluation, and AI-assisted homework grading. She particularly promoted the Wukong Agent platform, emphasizing its secure sandbox mechanism that enables controllable, personalized AI assistants for teachers.

Following this, representatives from four model schools shared their practical experiences:

Yichang Experimental Primary School has established a dual-track education model combining “on-campus projects” with “home-based VR laboratories.” Students use AI image recognition to create smart ID cards for campus plants, earning over 30 national awards. Tangjiawan Middle and Primary School leverages AI classroom behavior analysis to help young teachers improve questioning and interaction strategies. No. 16 Middle School uses the initiative “The Warmest Letter Home” to integrate the National Smart Education Platform with the “Green Seedling” intelligent agent, fostering a new ecosystem of co-reading among families, schools, and communities. Yulong Road Primary School inspires students to solve real-world problems through authentic projects like “Smart Farm” and “Noise Monitoring.”

The Xi陵 District Educational Technology Center outlined key tasks for 2026, clearly advancing six major initiatives: popularizing AI literacy education, deepening application of the National Smart Education Platform, collaborative construction of the technology alliance, and strengthening standardized equipment usage, vision protection, and laboratory safety management.

In her closing remarks, Deputy Director Zhang Xiaoling emphasized the importance of integrating infrastructure development with practical application, balancing workload reduction with quality improvement, avoiding idle equipment and formalism, and truly empowering teaching and serving students through technology.

Towards the end of the event, Diao Lixin, head of the Xi陵 District Educational Technology Center, officially announced the establishment of the district’s AI Education Research Team, presented appointment letters to core members, and released the list of technology alliance schools.

All participants agreed that this launch marks a new beginning—jointly building a new regional AI education ecosystem, creating a smart education system with local characteristics, and contributing to cultivating future-ready innovative talents.
