On October 28, the DingTalk Summit, themed "The Way of Work in the AI Era," was held in Ningbo, Zhejiang. Hosted by DingTalk, Alibaba's AI-powered workplace platform, the summit brought together hundreds of enterprise representatives from Ningbo across industries such as manufacturing, retail, and new materials to explore how AI technologies can enhance productivity and drive traditional manufacturing toward intelligent transformation.

As a major port city on China’s southeastern coast and an advanced manufacturing hub, Ningbo has a strong openness-oriented DNA and stands at the forefront of deep integration between AI and the real economy. DingTalk revealed that, to date, more than 80% of listed companies in the Ningbo region are using DingTalk for daily operations and management. Prominent local enterprises including Youngor and AUX have all adopted DingTalk as a key vehicle for digital transformation.

DingTalk, a smart collaborative workspace platform with 700 million users, has long been committed to supporting Chinese enterprises in their digital and intelligent transformation. It now serves over 20 sectors of the national economy, supports more than 26 million businesses, and hosts over 1.41 million AI applications.

Chen Weimian, Regional General Manager of DingTalk

In his speech, Chen Weimian, Regional General Manager of DingTalk, said: "Ningbo is a benchmark city for Made-in-China and one of the regions where DingTalk provides the deepest level of service. In the AI era, DingTalk aims to continuously help Ningbo enterprises reduce costs and improve efficiency through accessible, user-friendly, and secure AI-powered productivity tools, driving transformative changes in productivity. In the future, DingTalk could help every enterprise build its own proprietary AI model, learning from all information and knowledge accumulated since the company’s inception, enabling intelligent judgment and decision-making."

Youngor Group

As a leading enterprise in China's apparel industry, Youngor has recently advanced its "smart retail" strategy comprehensively. Its CIO, Wang Xin, shared that the company has deployed DingTalk’s AI-powered coaching system across thousands of stores nationwide. New employees can quickly master product knowledge and sales techniques through simulated dialogues, reducing training cycles by over 50%.

Meanwhile, management leverages DingTalk’s ChatBI feature to “ask data anytime, anywhere.” By simply posing natural language queries, they instantly retrieve key metrics such as sales trends, inventory turnover, and regional performance, supporting precise decision-making. "Previously, we had to wait for IT to generate reports. Now, executives can ask on their phones while traveling—like 'How did down jacket sales perform in East China during Q3?'—and get answers within seconds. This truly enables data-driven business," said Wang Xin.

Ningbo Oriental Cable Co., Ltd.

Oriental Cable, a listed high-tech enterprise, shared how it used DingTalk’s AI-powered spreadsheets to restructure and optimize project management processes. Previously, departmental data was scattered across Excel files, emails, and paper forms, making progress tracking difficult. Today, the company has built a unified AI spreadsheet platform on DingTalk that automatically aggregates operational and business metric data, generates real-time visual dashboards, and intelligently alerts responsible personnel about task statuses. "Project delays are now flagged early, and resource allocation is faster and more responsive."

Notably, when marketing staff are on business trips, they use DingTalk to log daily reports. The system automatically generates illustrated posters and pushes them to management groups, capturing customer feedback, competitive dynamics, and urgent requests in real time. This allows the company to respond swiftly and allocate technical or supply chain resources promptly, improving business opportunity conversion efficiency by 30%.

Ningbo Y&X Optics Co., Ltd.

Y&X Optics, a company with deep expertise in scientific instruments and precision optical components, has successfully established an "everyone-develops" innovation model using DingTalk’s low-code tools and AI spreadsheets. According to CIO Yang Weifeng, 90% of low-code applications are now independently developed by business teams, boosting development efficiency by 5 to 10 times and covering 80% to 90% of daily operational needs.

In practice, production staff use DingTalk’s low-code platform to rapidly build IoT data platforms, enabling automatic collection and visual monitoring of equipment parameters. For project management, AI spreadsheets integrate functions such as planning, task breakdown, cost tracking, and progress coordination, making cross-department collaboration as smooth and efficient as online conversations.

Additionally, Y&X Optics has created a “digital employee” service group via DingTalk AI assistants, which automatically handle tasks like building departmental knowledge bases, conducting skill training, and providing intelligent Q&A. This effectively breaks down "department silos," significantly enhancing organizational responsiveness and operational agility.

Going forward, DingTalk will deepen its service footprint in Ningbo, collaborating with local ecosystem partners to help more enterprises transition from simply "using DingTalk" to truly "leveraging AI effectively," jointly shaping the "Ningbo model" of China’s core intelligent manufacturing sector.
