1,800 Projects Incubated and Applied! Liuzhou Steel's "Ten Thousand AI Employees" Competition Achieves Remarkable Results

On December 31, the LiuGang Group Conference Center was filled with enthusiasm and excitement as the 2025 LiuGang "Ten Thousand AI Employees" Competition Awards Ceremony and the launch event for LiuGang’s dedicated AI-powered DingTalk 1.1 new product took place. This event marked a significant milestone in LiuGang Group's active response to the national artificial intelligence development strategy and its implementation of Guangxi Autonomous Region's initiative to empower numerous industries with AI, signifying the phased success of the group's "Ten Thousand AI Employees" program. Innovation Results Continue to Emerge

In recent years, LiuGang Group has accelerated the development of large steel industry models and pilot construction of “Terabit-level factories,” building Guangxi’s first intelligent fully automated steel analysis and testing line. Typical scenarios under the theme of “AI + Manufacturing,” such as smart ore blending, AI-assisted steelmaking, and digital-intelligent steel coil platforms, have been widely implemented, effectively enhancing production and operations and driving continuous innovation.

Promoting Innovation Through Competition to Ignite AI Enthusiasm Across the Workforce

The competition, guided by the principle of “promoting application, output, and innovation through contests,” showcased employees’ phased achievements in advancing AI applications. Since its launch last March, it attracted over 100 teams and more than 300 employees across key areas including production, logistics, energy, and management, successfully incubating nearly 1,800 AI assistant applications. The initiative has fostered a positive internal culture where “everyone learns AI, uses AI, and creates AI.”

Recognizing Excellence and Sharing Practical Experience

During the ceremony, Li Bin and Yan Jun presented awards to 11 teams honored with accolades including Most Popular Award, Best Industry Application Award, and Best Technical Innovation Award, recognizing their breakthrough explorations in applying AI to business scenarios. Outstanding teams such as the Cold Rolling Plant’s Silicon-based Pioneer Team (“Meta·AI Assistant”), Sales Center Team 2 (“Direct Sales Intelligent Quotation Assistant”), and Production Center Team (“AI-Driven Optimization of Raw Material Return Planning”) shared their practical experiences in AI application on stage.

Clarifying Direction and Deepening AI Integration

In his speech, Yan Jun noted that LiuGang has established a fully domesticated computing power platform and data middleware system, becoming the first manufacturing enterprise in Guangxi to obtain dual certification at DCMM Level 4 and DSMM Level 3. Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan period, the group will focus on three strategic directions: strengthening data-driven capabilities to promote data assetization and service-oriented transformation; deepening scenario empowerment to elevate AI from “siloed applications” to “end-to-end collaboration”; and upholding open collaboration to build an independent, controllable AI solution system for the steel industry. He called on managers at all levels to lead AI adoption efforts, deepen integration between technology and operations, and transform innovative outcomes into tangible industrial results.

New Product Launch to Enhance Management Efficiency

During the product launch session, Qiu Da, Vice President of DingTalk and General Manager of AI Solutions, introduced the upgraded DingTalk 1.1 version. With enhancements in features such as AI search, AI note-taking, AI spreadsheets, and AI travel assistance, this new release will inject fresh momentum into improving management efficiency and innovating production models at LiuGang Group.

Special Presentations and Unveiling of New Academy

Yao Chi, Founder and CEO of YizhiweiSi, delivered a keynote presentation on “Developing AI Engineers for Manufacturing,” exploring practical pathways for integrating technology with industry. Simultaneously, the “LiuGang·AI Academy” was officially inaugurated. Serving as a core platform for cultivating composite AI talent and incubating technological innovation and managerial transformation, the academy will establish a closed-loop training system—from business understanding to model development and engineering delivery—providing sustained talent support for the company’s digital and intelligent transformation.
