Huaxin Cement Embracing a Digital Future

Among numerous enterprises seizing opportunities in AI transformation, the century-old Huaxin Building Materials Group Co., Ltd. stands out particularly. Its predecessor, Huaxin Cement, was founded in 1907 and headquartered in Huangshi, Hubei. It is one of the oldest leading enterprises in China's cement industry and has participated in national key projects such as the Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge and the Three Gorges Dam.

Since 2019, Tang Jun has been responsible for the company's digitalization efforts, witnessing under CEO Li Yeqing's leadership how the company steadfastly advanced integrated transformation and overseas expansion during its peak years, with digitalization serving as a core support. He believes the results of the company's digitalization are significant, especially in overseas construction, which is closely tied to the application of DingTalk.

Faced with platform selection for digitalization, Huaxin Building Materials evaluated nearly all mainstream office collaboration products. Tang stated: "We've had in-depth discussions with major vendors, but ultimately choosing DingTalk wasn't due to sales pitches—it was our proactive decision."

In his view, what enterprises need is not just an instant messaging tool, but a future-oriented management ecosystem platform capable of endowing companies with intelligent capabilities in the AI era. Currently, Huaxin Building Materials' overseas operations span 14 countries, with over 30 factories, and more than half of its overseas subsidiaries have already adopted DingTalk, with plans for full rollout ahead.

Tang concluded: Digital transformation aimed solely at cost reduction and efficiency improvement is destined to fail, but successful digital transformation will inevitably bring about cost reduction and efficiency gains—because these are not goals, but outcomes.

Following this, Wu Jing, Senior Manager of Accelink’s Process & Information Department, took the stage to share. Continuing Tang Jun’s remarks with a smile, she said: "We're also a listed company—everyone can check our stock price too, which indeed showed clear growth after integrating DingTalk."

Wu began by discussing enterprise pain points: During the pandemic, employee communication was scattered across multiple tools like WeChat, QQ, and email, resulting in fragmented work environments and low efficiency. Through multiple rounds of discussion and design, Accelink built a unified platform based on DingTalk, completing system launch in less than three months and transitioning over 8,000 employees from old tools within a week.

As a research-focused enterprise, Accelink places great importance on information security, with strict requirements for data isolation and safety management. Wu noted that DingTalk’s intelligent collaboration infrastructure provides effective security controls, genuinely meeting the company’s confidentiality needs.

Looking ahead, she is highly optimistic about DingTalk’s AI capabilities, particularly the AI-powered low-code development platform and sales AI assistant, which will become key application areas for the company.

DingTalk Restructuring AI Work Styles

Zhao Zhong, Vice President of DingTalk, outlined DingTalk’s strategic vision starting from AI development trends: "DingTalk isn't simply adding AI—we are determined to use AI to fundamentally rebuild DingTalk itself."

Zhao believes future work models will be primarily driven by AI, with humans playing a supporting role. Through end-to-end demonstrations involving AI hardware, AI note-taking, and AI spreadsheets, DingTalk is exploring entirely new ways of user collaboration.
